Life is made up of countless small moments that often go unnoticed. From a peaceful sunrise to a chat with a friend, each moment adds value to our lives.

IWHAT HAPPEN NEXT?
Nearly two hundred years ago, a storm changed the course of a story.
Generations of people have helped preserve pieces of that story.
✶ Some recorded events.
✶ Some shared memories.
✶ Some created artwork.
✶ Some wrote books.
✶ Some asked questions.
✶ Others spent years searching for answers.
Today, we have inherited both their discoveries and their unanswered questions.
The Lost Voices Challenge is not the end of an investigation.
It is the beginning of a new chapter.
As the 2026 Willey House Bicentennial approaches, opportunities continue to emerge for learners, mentors, historians, researchers, storytellers, community members, organizations, and institutions to contribute to a shared investigation.
✶ New sources may be discovered.
✶ New technologies may reveal new perspectives.
✶ New questions may inspire new investigations.
✶ New collaborations may create possibilities that none of us can yet predict.
That is part of the adventure.
✶ Every generation receives a story.
✶ Every generation has the opportunity to add to it.
And every generation leaves something behind for those who follow.
✶ The mountains remain.
✶ The landscape remains.
✶ The questions remain.
What changes is our understanding.
The next chapter has not yet been written.
Perhaps that is the most exciting part.
The question is not whether there is more to discover.
The question is:
What will we discover together?
